Church Government

The government of this church is vested in the God of Creation and in its members, who shall exercise their God-given responsibilities in all its affairs as dictated by God’s Holy Bible. The church recognizes the obligations of mutual counsel and cooperation which are to be common among the Church of Jesus Christ worldwide. Each member shall have the responsibility to follow the Word of God in daily life, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Management of the church is through the Elders. Its administrations are through the officers, boards standing committees and employees of the church body.

  • Leadership

In keeping with our congregational heritage, we believe that our primary source of leadership must come from God’s written Word, His leaders and His people in assembly under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Our leaders are to be believers of sound Christian character as prescribed in the “Pastoral Epistles” (1&2 Timothy, Titus). Though we choose to affirm our leaders in a congregational setting, we also covenant to trust and obey those we have so chosen. We, also, in the spirit of 1 Timothy 5:19-21, will hold our leaders accountable, and should any prove to be unworthy of their position, will rebuke and/or remove them by act of church discipline.

  • Membership

Membership in this church shall be open to any person who has made a public confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and has attended the Membership Information Class. Every member age 16 or older is eligible to vote.
