What We Believe

WE BELIEVE -- That the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the written Word of God, inerrant, God-breathed and all-sufficient in rule of faith and practice. (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16). Subordinate to the Scriptures, are all created standards and statements of men (Revelation 22:18).

WE BELIEVE -- That there is one and but one living and true God, consisting in three persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory, that this triune God created all, upholds all and governs all (Genesis 1:26, John 10:30,36, Matthew 28:19).

WE BELIEVE -- That Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and that through His life, death and resurrection, atonement was made for sin and redemption was provided for all mankind. (John 1:1-3; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-6; John 20:11-29).

WE BELIEVE -- That belief in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior is the one and only way whereby sinful man can be reconciled to God and inherit eternal life (John 3:16; 14:6).

WE BELIEVE -- The Holy Spirit regenerates the soul bringing man into a saved relationship with God. He lives in every believer and is the Comforter and Guide of all who receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior (John 15:26; Romans 8:26-27; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Corinthians 6:19;13).

WE BELIEVE – That upon repentance and belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, we are commanded to be baptized in water. It is a sign of our death to sin and our new life in Christ. We hold that believer’s baptism by immersion is the best biblical model (Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4).

WE BELIEVE – In the efficacy of prayer as intimate conversation between our Living God and His people, in the name of Jesus Christ. Continual prayer is a cornerstone of our personal life with our Lord (John 15:15-16; 14:13-14; Ephesians 6:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).

WE BELIEVE – Jesus commands us to regularly remember and give thanks through our corporate celebration of the Lord’s Supper (communion) by taking bread representing His body which was broken for us and wine representing His blood which is the symbol of His covenant and was shed for many for the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 26:26-30; Luke 22:19-20; Mark 14:22-24).

WE BELIEVE -- That the Church, the Body of Christ, is composed of all who personally receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Ephesians 1:22-23; John 3:1-8; Revelation 3:20).

WE BELIEVE -- In the reality and personality of Satan, who is the “prince of this world” whose spiritual wickedness helps enslave mankind to evil (Revelation 12:9; John 14:30; Ephesians 2:2; Matthew 25:41).

WE BELIEVE -- That upon salvation, we are divinely reckoned to be related to this world as strangers and pilgrims, ambassadors and witnesses, and that our purpose in life should be to make Jesus Christ, who is our Savior and Lord, known to all nations. Though we are to be obedient servant citizens of the world, our primary allegiance is to the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ and God’s Holy Bible (Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 16:15; John 17:18).

WE BELIEVE -- In the personal return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to take His bride, the Church, to be with Him. (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). No one knows the day or hour of His appearing but everyone is exhorted to live as if He were returning today (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11; Revelation 22:20).

WE BELIEVE -- In what is termed “The Apostles Creed” as embodying the foundational facts of the Christian faith as set forth by our Church brethren in the past to speak against the heresies of man and the deceptions of Satan.
