I'm Dave, one of the leaders at GCC and I didn't grow up in the Church. I didn't know what I was missing. Turns out I was missing out on a treasure. Belonging to Christ's Church has given me unimaginable wealth. Three New Testament images of the Church remind me of these riches.
- The Church is the Body of Christ. In the Church I get a sense of belonging and a chance to participate. I'm connected to a group committed to a mission of eternal significance. We rescue people with a message that reveals God's love. The Good News about Jesus Christ. I get involved as a participating member and my part is crucial, as is everyone's in a healthy, functioning body.
- The Church is the Family of God. Long ago I learned the value of inter-dependency. Isolated living shrinks the soul. The Church is family. I've known incredible comfort and indescribable joy in intimate relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ.
- The Church is the Bride of Christ. I find the love of Christ in His Church. Jesus wants to be near us. To nurture and cherish us. There is no other love like the love of our Savior.
Grace Community Church is a place where we're moving toward these Christian ideals. We're not there yet. But we are a group committed to growth and health. We don't always live like we should but we're learning to own our failures, forgive, and love one another. We're the glad recipients of the love and grace of God that unite us. Family expansion is always in the plans. There's a place at the table. Come check us out.
